Rustic Meadow at Ladybug Lake

Step back in time in this adorable 1883 cabin featuring modern amenities and picturesque meadow setting with your own lake, canoes, mountain view, creeks and walking trails to enjoy! Laura Ingalls would be sure to call this home!  The property is straight out of a storybook description. The birds chirp, a light breeze blows, the water sparkles, the trees sway and the fish await. Imagine a morning stroll, coffee on the upper deck, casting your line and listening to the sounds of mother nature.

Your vacation begins with a beautiful scenic drive and very easy access to the property.  As soon as you pull in, you will notice the wide open space, tall Black Walnut trees, rustic cabin with immense charm and the beauty of the meadow and lake and the timeless tire swing.    

The property features 4 ½ acres to explore including four different streams feeding the lake, multiple walking paths, fire pit, canoes, dock to fish, bocce ball court, dog kennel, separate outdoor dining / sitting area and space for games or kids to play. 

As you step through the door, you are entering the addition added to the property by the previous owners.  It includes a lovely sitting area with a direct view to the lake.  

You will enter the living room to the left which features the original floors/walls, wood burning fireplace and  with ample space for the family to relax, discuss the day or watch their favorite TV show.  The kitchen is fully equipped.  It includes a large pantry area with everything you need and also a stackable washer/dryer unit.  The added charm is that the original iron stove is still in the corner, reminding of times long ago.  Don’t worry, there is a modern gas stove, no need to use the original!

There are two bedrooms on the first floor with a Queen bedroom to the left and two twin beds to the right.  A full size bathroom is between.

The top floor includes a King Master suite, with a sitting area, huge bathroom, including a jet shower.  There is also a lovely porch looking out over the meadow/lake.  

There is an additional area outside including outdoor dining, charcoal grill, sitting area and large fire pit.  Have a friendly game of Bocce Ball, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the tranquility.

Lady Bug Lake, named after the owner’s dog, is available for your use and provides many ways to enjoy it.  There are two canoes available to use with paddles and life vest.  It is stocked with Bass, Catfish and Brim.  There are several places to sit or utilize the dock to cast your line. 

ATV’s are welcome but need to be used responsibly on the property and at your own risk.

Guest Access:

Access is via keyless entry.  A check-in code will be provided 1 day prior to arrival.  Checkout code will be provided the day before with instructions.

The entire cabin is available to the guest with the exception of the owners closet

Neighborhood:

This is a private property with paved access.  Four wheel drive is not necessary to reach the property location.  Only minutes from main highway.

This property is conveniently located minutes from downtown Blue Ridge and other attractions including:  Mercier Orchards, Blue Ridge Adventure Park, Aska region, shopping, restaurants, white water rafting, tubing, horseback riding, and much more.  Maps and details of available activities are provided at the cabin and in your welcome portal.

Other Things To Note:

Pets must be kept on a leash or in the kennel.

Trash and Litter:
Trash pickup service is provided on Tuesday and Friday.  If the trash cans are full upon arrival, please contact the property management office.  All trash must be bagged and placed into the two trash cans provided.  Our nature friends love to make a mess when this is not done and the trash companies will not pickup loose trash.  

Smoking Policy:
This property is a NO SMOKING inside but will allow SMOKING outside.  Please put all cigarette butts in the outside ashtray.
